An Egyptian refugee gets a job at a catering company owned by two Scandinavian sisters with a relationship of co-dependence and sibling abuse. When a dark secret from the sisters' past is revealed, the three women find themselves in a power play fighting to gain control of each other, and their lives.

Eleven year old Ragnar’s legs have been deformed by polio. He’s constantly teased by other children because of his disability, but he refuses to be an underdog. When the Soviets occupy Porkala in 1944, Ragnar’s family is forced to leave their home. His life reflects Finland's story of survival - fighting for independence against an overpowering opponent.
